Description
Maserati’s new electric drivetrain will make its debut in the next-generation GranTurismo and GranCabrio models, before being used in the Maserati MC20 Electric. The electric MC20 is expected to be released in the second half of 2021, coming to the United States for the 2022 model year.
The car will likely feature a two-motor configuration with all-wheel drive and the largest battery of any upcoming Maserati model. The electric version of the MC20 is rumored to be quicker than the gasoline-powered car, though the top speed may be less than 180 mph.
The gas-powered MC20 will start at around $210,000 while the electric version is expected to be priced close to $300,000, making it the most expensive series production electric vehicle on the market. A Spyder variant of the MC20 is confirmed, but details have not been released.
