E-trucks on the Swabian Alb: Test engineers are currently evaluating the eActros 600 for long-distance transportation.

In Leinfelden-Echterdingen / Münsingen, Mercedes-Benz Trucks engineers are conducting tests with prototypes of the battery-electric eActros 600. These tests are being conducted both on the former military training ground in Münsingen and on public roads nearby.

The Swabian Alb’s diverse terrain makes it an ideal location for testing the electric truck, whether as a semitrailer tractor or a rigid variant, under various conditions. To assess the acoustics of the eActros 600, the engineers utilized the well-established acoustics test track in Münsingen, which provides an ideal environment due to its quiet location.

The eActros 600 is expected to be ready for mass production in 2024 and will boast a range of approximately 500 km without the need for intermediate charging. The world premiere of this electric long-distance truck is scheduled for October 10 of this year.
